Disaster recovery is crucial to any business but it is only as good as the customer is at using it. First, a business should have a Disaster Recovery Plan or DRP. A DRP should include how data is backed up and where it is stored, preferrably off site for maximum protection. A Disaster Recovery Plan should also include how the business will get back up, equipment to use to get backup should there be a major disaster, documentation that is important to restoring your systems, and where it should take place after the disaster.
There are several ways to back up data. The most effective for offsite safety is using an offsite backup company. Absolute Integrity works with several. These sites will backup all data overnight or at any time you decide, store it and back it up on their sites. Retrival is simple and fast even for a simple restore of a file or files. Should a major disaster occur your data is still available.

Remote Backup - offsite backup for total offsite security.
Disk-to-Disk backup: Much faster than tape, can be taken off-site but more bulky. The biggest benifit to disk is it's speed recording data and retrieving data. Where tape has to stream to a location for the data, disk simply goes directly to the location to retrieve the data.

At Absolute Integrity we can design a web presence for you. We also build web servers for those that have a more inhouse development need. Microsoft Small Business Server is perfect for this for most small businesses. It allows for normal server abilities as well as Exchange email and server hosting.
- Terminal Server 2008:
VPN has long been a solution for remote connections but it has several limitations. Due to its enhanced security throughput is severely decreased. It can also have connection issues on certain networks. On the other hand, an RDP or Remote Desktop Connection xhas a much better response time on connecting to and working in remote sessions.
With Terminal Server 2008 as a Gateway, multiple connections (more than two) can be made and applications such as Open Office, SQL Database or Quickbooks can be installed on the server so that those applications can be run in a remote session.
With Terminal Server 2008 improvements have been made to remote printing that simplifies the printer connection, local drives can be attached to the session as well as flash drives and digital cameras. There are also options to connect through a website. T%heprimary advantage is that you get as close as possible to a normal network experience on a remote connection.
